I know it’s been a while since I posted on my blog, but I just started a new job as “Social Media Consultant” at Creative Media Alliance , a really cool group of talented folks.
So, back to our main subject, Facebook & it’s privacy policy’s saga. We all know that the company has been sharing some (maybe a little more than that) information about it’s users with Pandora and Microsoft. This got some of us really worried about privacy.
I do understand where is Facebook coming from, As CEO Mark Zuckerberg pronounced this week, “If people share more, the world will become more open and connected. And a world that’s more open and connected is a better world.” this announcement proves that Facebook is pushing more & more towards public sharing, but why?
Well, Facebook is getting into location based services, it will be competing with services like foursquare and others ,which will require users to share more personal information to be able to use the service.
Love it or hate it, it looks like Facebook is going ahead with the changes despite all the cries from worried users.
